About September 8
My name is Gilda Velazquez, born on September 8 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and raised in Juana Díaz, where I spent most of my life before moving to Texas in 2007. I hold a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a degree in Human Resources, but my true passion has always lived in my hands and my heart: jewelry design.
From as early as I can remember, I have always been creating. In elementary school, I made bracelets and necklaces for my friends using plastic beads from art class, cutting straws into tiny pieces to create new designs, and even arranging rocks during recess into beautiful patterns. Designing wasn’t just a hobby — it was part of who I was. Even then, I dreamed of one day owning my own jewelry store and launching my own jewelry line.
Jewelry has been much more than an accessory in my life. It has been therapy, strength, healing, and self-love. During some of the darkest moments of my life, creating and wearing jewelry brought me light, motivation, and emotional balance. On days when I didn’t feel like myself, trying on jewelry would change how I saw my reflection — it reminded me of my worth, my faith, and my inner power.
That is how September8 Jewelry was born — from resilience, creativity, and the belief that jewelry can empower, uplift, and transform how we feel about ourselves.
Every piece is designed with intention, quality, and love. When you wear our jewelry, you’re not just wearing an accessory — you’re wearing a reminder of confidence, beauty, and self-belief.
